Hi friends!

As I’ve been working to launch my new Magic of Business online course, I’ve been thinking about – and talking about – my own journey in life and in business. It’s had its ups, it’s had its downs, and ultimately I’ve learned a lot. Busting past ceilings I created for myself, that I didn’t even realize I had, has been powerful and transformative. But in order to smash those limitations, first I had to acknowledge them for what they were: limiting beliefs.

What’s a limiting belief? It’s pretty straightforward: something embedded in our mind and body and framework for the world – a belief – that we operate as though it’s true, and we hold ourself back assuming it’s true… but that isn’t true, whatsoever.

A lot of folks spend their entire life in this space: trapped by self-imposed limitations, things they – we – I – believe that aren’t actually based in the reality of the world, but in assumptions we make to keep ourselves safe and comfortable.

We all have them – I know I still have some that I’m kicking to the curb, and I’m sure I’ll uncover new ones with each new level of success I reach.

Today I wanted to tell y’all about 7 limiting beliefs that are holding you back, particularly in the areas of business, entrepreneurship, and pursuing your passions to work for yourself. When you’re finished reading all these, I’d be curious to know – how many of these apply to you?

Limiting belief #1: People like me can’t be successful.

This belief often comes into being when we don’t have any role models who look like us. Maybe no one in our family has ever started a business, or no one we’ve ever met, even. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that success doesn’t exist for people who look like you – and you can fill in the blank in whatever way you want to with that one.

I’ve heard it all – “I’m disabled, I can’t do that,” or, “I live in a bigger body, fat people can’t be successful,” or even “it’s hard for women to succeed in business, unless they sleep with someone.”

All of that stuff is crap, just lies – limiting beliefs.

Of course women can run successful businesses on their own terms – I can name like a zillion awesome woman owned businesses. Of course fat folks can achieve massive success, have you heard of Lizzo or Jack Black? Of course disabled people can run businesses and find success in the media – I know lots of folks personally who fit this category.

Whatever your unique identity, whatever your unique set of circumstances, yes, people like you can be successful.

Limiting belief #2: If I follow my dreams I’ll fail.

This one is when we give up before we even start, and assume that failure is inevitable.

Newsflash, failure isn’t inevitable – unless we don’t even try, then we fail kinda by default. But if we put ourselves out there, if we give it our all, if we follow our dreams and put our whole ass in… there’s no guarantee we’ll fail or succeed, but failure certainly isn’t a foregone conclusion; or, at least, it shouldn’t be.

If you reach for the moon, at the very least you’ll find yourself among the stars… rather than back down on earth, with everyone else who didn’t try.

Limiting belief #3: If I reveal who I actually am, everyone will reject me.

One big thing that holds folks back in business is a fear of authentically sharing who they are – in a way that’s visible, out in the open. A lot of people associate visibility with unsafety, terror, and rejection. Yeah, some people may reject you, but that’ll happen no matter what. It’s 5000% not true that EVERYONE will reject you. It’s just not possible.

The fact of the matter is… the people who dig you, will dig you. And the faster you reveal who you actually are, in full vulnerability from your heart… the faster they’ll find you, accept you, love you, appreciate you, hire you. Revealing who you are is actually the fastest path to acceptance, not rejection.

Real recognize real, after all.

Limiting belief #4: I can’t make money doing what I want to do.

I see this one a lot with people who are creative or spiritual. Let me tell you: people love spending money, and people love spending money on unique offerings that resonate with them. I’ve heard of some of the craziest sounding, most random niches where people find success and earn a living. A friend of mine recently told me about a personal trainer somewhere who motivates her clients by sharing bee facts when they hit goals. Yes, bee facts – because apparently this personal trainer is also an entomologist! For real. Sounds random, sounds wacky, but there is a place in this world for everyone. You just have to confidently own who you are and what makes you unique.

Spiritual people, artists, whatever – you can make money doing what you’re interested in. I’ve met tons of artists who were absolutely loaded financially, and the same is true for spiritual teachers. It’s been done before, it can be done again – why not you?

I’ll say it again: Why not you?

In my Magic of Business course, I’ll teach more about mindset, limiting beliefs, and everything else that is stopping you from making more money.

Let me show you my methodologies and processes from how I went from broke… to not… in what felt like overnight.

Now enrolling. If I were you, I wouldn’t wait.
